Remington custom shop barreled actions. $400

Ok now I'm even more confused.

They stopped taking orders for the barreled action listing they had posted previously and then today they put up a new listing for the barreled actions with a slightly different description, on sale for $349 each for a Memorial Day sale??

Mine never showed they stopped taking orders yesterday like everyone said. Each time I read it I checked it out and was still able to order 🤷

They have actually both raised and lowered the price. The original listings appeared to have included a bolt, but insinuated there was a chance that you would not get a bolt, and gave you the option to buy a PTG bolt and bolt blueprinting service for $300 extra, however, those who called reported that PTG staff informed them they would be receiving a bolt with the gun, and if the gun did not come with a bolt, PTG would include a PTG bolt at no additional charge... The new listing for $50 less DOES NOT INCLUDE A BOLT, but, for $100 you can add “a PTG or Remington bolt at PTG’s choice”....so with no blueprinting services added, the price went up $50 from before...what a sale! However, if you want to add the PTG bolt and bolt blue printing service, it remains $300 additional, so it’s now $650 instead of $700...$50 cheaper. Comically, I highly doubt that anyone who paid $700 for a barreled action and PTG bolt is going to be refunded $50.

THIS IS A LESSON IN HOW NOT YO DO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have been hiring former employees of the wildlife agencies of WY, MT, AZ, and ID.

What was preventing them from waiting to see what they had before selling things?
I really wanted in on it but I expected this to be a huge pain in the ass.
Same! My brother checked today and they stopped selling them. They are now waiting to see what they got.

Now I have read the new description over and over and to me it makes no mention of coming or not coming with a bolt? Did I miss something?

You’re now forced to select an option regarding the bolt. One option is “no bolt”. All other options come at additional cost. Previously, there was no factory Remington bolt option, and there was no “no bolt” option.

My guess is that they had to spend well over $1M in the auction. That information, combined with the appearance that they bought a lot of Custom Shop products prior to the bankruptcy, makes me suspect that they are EXTREMELY low on operating capital and needed to replace some of that very quickly. They’ll have a lot of payroll and other expenses between now and when those barreled actions arrive. I suspect that once they recoup some costs, we’ll see them continue to raise prices and give you a better idea of what you’re actually getting.

Yes I agree and if that is the case I would have hoped they would have put in there that it does not come with bolt at all. because the tab says “add PTG bolt and blueprinting”... either way I rolled the dice on 3... but didn’t get in until after the price drop so we shall see what shows up. 😬 like I needed more projects but at least this one is for me.

When you bought yours, you did not have to select “no bolt” or choose to pay extra. After the “price drop” you are forced to choose “no bolt”, or pay for a bolt. Originally, the only bolt options that had an additional charge were for PTG bolts. The new drop down menu has an additional option of “Remington or PTG bolt” at PTG’s option for $100. I would suspect that there is a chance it will be a stripped bolt, in which case you would need to purchase an extractor, ejector, firing pin, bolt shroud and springs.

I believe that at the point in time at which you made the purchase, you will most likely get a complete bolt at no extra charge.

In todays Excel document I notice quite a few of the receiver options have been removed, must be doing some kind of inventory on what they've sold vs. what's expected.

They’re still there. $375 for bare action, recoil lug, and short chambered barrel. +$100 to be guaranteed a bolt. +more $$$ to be guaranteed other things.
