Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Round two: New directive from our agency for the five bullet points.

Meh, based on the description "...exercise aligns with and supplements the intent of the Office of Personnel Management's recent guidance..."
"Provide approximately five bullet points summarizing your key accomplishments from last week."
"Send to ... and cc direct manager."

yadda, yadda, yadda...

Sent again:

  • I complied fully and faithfully with my oath of office. (“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”)
  • I performed tasks and assignments to implement the laws and regulations that govern the official duties of my program and agency.
  • I performed the duties outlined and required by my job classification in my position of record.
  • I followed the law and regulations regarding confidentiality of data and information sharing with outside parties that are part of my work.
  • I performed these assignments during work hours at my duty station as outlined in my personnel records (Standard Form 50 — Notification of Personnel Action).

Sounding like a weekly deal possibly.

Just remember its all about efficiency.

Unless you are a govt employee, efficiency is a good thing.
Yes but there is nothing about this that adds efficiency. Employees now start their week wasting 15 minutes justifying their job. Doesn’t sound like much until you consider how many people are having to waste those 15 minutes. Maybe Elon should just email those managers and ask them what their points of focus are. If the managers don’t know what their employees are doing then we have a problem.

I’d anyone actually reading the responses or is it just a check box to see that you respond?
I've read quotes to the effect that they think there are dead federal employees on the rolls.

This whole implementation is a joke. Wife's friend is a disabled vet working at a federal agency. She was fired for "performance" even though she always had excellent evaluations. Also was labeled a probationary employee even though she's not probationary. Already got her job back. What a boondoggle.

If this is ok, I just really have to question what the motivations really are.

Well, funny you should mention that...if it takes 2,000,000 employees 5 minutes of official time...10,000,000 minutes/60 166,667 hours....

Multiply 166,667x $35/hour (average)...5.83 million per every 5 minutes of time.

If its your contention it takes 15 minutes...just shy of 17.5 million per week.

17.5x52....yearly expenditure of $910,000,000.

Anyone want to talk about a way to save the tax payers money and be more efficient?

I don't doubt that a lot of people actually believe this. It's been drilled into their heads by the media and politicians looking to score cheap points for my entire life.

All they need to see is a few instances of it actually being true, which is obviously going to exist in an organization so big, and then it's confirmed in their minds.

I just want to know what the end goal is of the people pushing it at this point.

Harassment, pure and simple. Performative nonsense to get a snicker for the base.

All it is.

FFS, making claims that people are dead and drawing a paycheck?

Every timesheet in the .gov has to be approved by at least 1 person.

Oh, I know, maybe it's a dead supervisor approving a dead employees time sheet.

The goal is to control the way people think in order to keep them voting the way they do. That's all this is about. Keeping the base, and conning as many more into the cult as possible. And yes, this started with Reagan's attacks on welfare and "the gubment" and went into full speed in the late 90's with Rush and Newt. This president saw an opportunity to manipulate weak and hateful minds, switched parties and positions, and siezed the opportunity, knowing he could buy or bully his way and find enough like-minded people in positions of influence to go along with the big lie. Meanwhile, the politically stupid dems kept falling on their extremists swords, forgetting they needed votes from the middle to win elections. And that is why we are where we are.

This goes for both sides always trying to manipulate the middle voters to vote dem or republican the crazy thing is if dems would stop attacking hunting rights and the 2nd and enforcement of the immigration laws they would never lose another election.

Nah, they would find other ways to lose elections. LOL Strategy has never been their strength.

I am paid thru direct billing to specific projects. ZERO tax dollars fund us. I have to account for my time in 15 min intervals daily. My rate is $125/hr. Our clerk is $60/hr. No, we don't make that. That's what the agency bills to fund us, truck, facility, etc... Somebody is gonna have to eat that time for me to fill it out and review the clerks. Extrapolate that out across the system. Think DOGE will send us a labor code to bill to?

I'm the only guy in my field office. It's pretty easy to tell if I am doing my job. If projects are rolling and money's going into accounts, it's us. Try blocking a contractor from an awarded project and see how long it takes them to file a congressional complaint.
