I think he's shown he only believes news reports that mesh with his own world view when he used that Reuters hard news example. They are just reporting what China says--which is news-- he doesn't like what they said, so the reporting shouldn't be trusted I guess--or maybe they can only be trusted if they use a similar bias in what to report as news and what not to?

No recognition that nothing in that article implies China is right whatsoever (they are obviously wrong IMO).

At that point, it became apparent that he was in some combination, deluded about being the only politician from his party, up to the job, or became quite intoxicated with all that is being the president.

He ended his presidency badly. His debate performance was an emperor has no clothes moment. His eleventh hour departure from the race, left a political vacuum, that did not allow for a normal primary process, to select a nominee.

His pardons of his son and family are very shameful. He has given every future president, including Trump, a precedent to pardon anyone close to them, no matter what they may have done.

Biden won a legitimate primary because the party coalesced around him, yes to ensure that Bernie wouldn't win the nomination, but because they saw Bernie as an outsider and thought he was too extreme to beat Trump. I'm not saying I like the outcome, but it's not some big conspiracy. If the republican party had been actually organized like that in 2016, maybe the republican party would still be conservative now instead of a cult of personality.

I think it was "least objectionable" rather than "most popular." From my perspective, Trump was unpopular enough in 2020 that the democrats just wanted to run someone that wouldn't scare away moderates and most of the primary field was way left of Biden.

He ran in 1988 and 2008 and didn't even make it through the primary. The thing that helped in 2020 was the opponent.The choice was an old white guy or the orange guy that told people to drink bleach. Tough choice for the Boomers.
