Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Been hanging on here. When Verizon started to move toward 5G their service went downhill. Same phones same locations suddenly drop calls, can't get voicemails until you step into a wide open area, etc.
Exactly. I couldn't take it anymore so I switched. AT&T had better pricing, gave me a free phone, and has significantly better service in MN. No issues out west either thus far. So really, I can't blame them for switching.

I would put more faith in Starlink to overhaul the FAA communications then I would Verizon in the current state. Verizon is going downhill, starlink is a rising star. One is hungry for new, the other is stale or declining.

New York Times is the gold standard for corruption journalism. They are going the way of the dinosaurs. No one reads them anymore!
LOL. Journalistic standards died with social media. I am aware of the various biases and no one is perfect in the age to be the first and fastest. I just prefer those places with some type of bullshit indicator still in place over those that say "that's not bullshit enough". I can do the work of sorting through the tougher stuff.

Wllm sends his regards.

As an actual response, you may not like their leaning but NYT is the last legacy media operation that isn't owned by a large conglomerate that muddies their objectives. For example, CBS settling an obviously BS lawsuit because they don't want to jeopardize the Paramount Skydance merger, WaPo taking a decidedly pro-Trump turn because Bezos has other business interests that take precedence, etc, etc. The news side of most outlets is a tiny piece of their business picture.

Say hi to the lurker!

Starlink can't find my address, after finding and sending me a 1st gen. Now they can't find me when I ordered a new one because the 1st died after a year. And there is no way to contact them, nor customer service.

I'd be a billionaire too if I stiffed everyone all my life.
Now I have to go through an ordeal and get a new debit to rid myself of the bill.
Hank - if youre having trouble - i might be able to help you. Feel free to send me a pm.

My honest experience is a lot different, they were really helpful and ive relied on it at home nearly everyday for 4 years now. Likely - they dont have an exact address for your location so there is a mismatch between where the starlink receiver is and where its expected to be (recorded as the address you have set up). This is especially true if a typical gps map application doesnt take you to the correct location when you send it to your house.

I’m 34

So I’d like to think your comment isn’t applicable… But maybe it is
Is around here. I have kids around your age. The youngest about 5 years younger--she's the only one who didn't go to college and had had her choice of good decent paying jobs with bennies.

Thankfully there are other options other than legacy media these days to get your information from.

I like The Free Press, but let's not pretend it is without bias. Just depends on the author. Like I said, an independent thinker should have zero problem with someone else's bias.

Reuters is my standard these days. Sure can't see any bias there they skewer everyone and do more in depth reporting than anyone else I see too.

Carvelle's rants are highly entertaining IMO!
Yep. Before the election he was one of the few that said it would be really close and wouldn't be surprised if Trump won handily. He's not been a fan of the Dem. assessment and campaign strategies. Right now he's being widely sought out and is all over the news because he's saying Dems need to sit back with some popcorn, not go on attack mode--he claims in 6 weeks the Trump world and republican party is coming crashing down.

I've been saying this for a while. I dont know about no 6 weeks, but we have a saying at work...sometimes the best thing to do is just give them enough rope.

Thanks for the link.

I'm still waiting for the link to the NYT winning the gold in corruption journalism. Should I hold my breath?
I think he's shown he only believes news reports that mesh with his own world view when he used that Reuters hard news example. They are just reporting what China says--which is news-- he doesn't like what they said, so the reporting shouldn't be trusted I guess--or maybe they can only be trusted if they use a similar bias in what to report as news and what not to?

No recognition that nothing in that article implies China is right whatsoever (they are obviously wrong IMO).

I too have found the Free Press to be enjoyable, with varying levels of bias going both directions.

I am looking for a way to gauge the buyers-remorse. The market is my go-to, but it is mostly about where the cash goes. HT is probably not a great place for it either, but it would be interesting at what point people get motivated enough to call their Congress reps and ask "WTF is going on?". Repubs cancelling town halls is a hilarious indication. It would be great to get people to engage again in the political space. Heck, it would be great to see a conversation and legitimate debate on a problem and solution. I think BHR and I agreed on a way to fixed Social Security over a year ago.
