Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Do whatever floats your boat man. I also sent in an almost entire red ballot. Doesn't mean I don't try to call out the people I voted for when they do dumb shit.
Let me take one more stab at this. So I’m sure you’re aware of the group of people trying to change the mt hunting structure. Anyone that’s against it says ht isn’t the general consensus for Montana residents and they don’t want this. So if ht isn’t the general consensus for mt sportsman how far off do you think it is on a national level where most people don’t care about the forest service? That’s the reality of it I don’t like what’s happening with it either but coming into here and driving a political wedge between all of us on a huge issue for the community that we all agree on isn’t gonna help. But continue on bagging about the orange nazi in every post while more people lose interest instead of trying to find a way to actually help.

Since the R’s love piling trillions on to the national debt as wel, this exact statement can be applied to R’s when D’s get control and start applying and moving forward with their agenda.
Funny you call out others as “crybabies” only to then proceed to check out when you meet resistance or alternative opinions. Very much like my 4 and 2 year old (actual crybabies).
Thanks for stopping by.
Right. As I mentioned earlier, many think the government should be run like a business--but NO business would be so intent to CUT their revenue as Republicans have been.

There are problems on both sides of the ledger and until recent years the biggest has been on the reduction in income--i.e. cutting taxes, particularly for the wealthy and corporations but to be fair all the tax cuts have added a lot more to the national debt than anything that can reasonably be saved by any DOGE efforts. Spending went way up under Trumps first administration--remember those Donald J Trump checks--wasn't much, but everyone got one and that did nothing good for the deficit! Spending did not decreas under Biden is why I say it's now on both sides of the ledger. Both Trump and Biden might get some pass for the spending designed to get us out of Covid without crashing the economy--that worked.

The problem is the biggest by far portion of the spending side of the ledger are things that are typically thought of as untouchable. Social Security, Medicare, and Military. You can cut many entire other programs and not make much of a dent.

And when you look a the clear indications that DOGE is planning to implement the West Virginia model--cut back and overstate the value of those cutbacks to support their plans to cut taxes even more--which will push the growth of the national debt into an even steeper rise--any efforts to cut back--for anyone thinking the problem is the government needs to start balancing their checkbook--rings hollow.

Considering how ballot box biology plays out in other States - the metropolis seems to dictate the Federal philosophy. Pendulum swings one way then ... counters. If Montana handles itself in this manner...?

I have the same concerns. A voice that plays out less and less... Strange as same can be said of my own understanding/involvement. How did I become more involved? I saw a TV show called On Your Own Adventures. It felt real.

Aside from "influencers" where do our newer generations gain interest to a level that we held encouraging support for our wildlife and public lands?

Novel idea, maybe their parents?

instead of trying to find a way to actually help.
You have no $*)Q!#@$ idea what I'm actually doing to "help". You don't know how many calls I've made, emails I've sent, and letters I'm working on. My neighbor is one of our county commissioners and a diehard Trump supporter. I've spent an absurd amount of time trying to get him to just listen and keep him from getting defensive over actual issues Trump is causing that will have real implications for our area. What I keep running into is the unbelievable amount of loyalism he's managed to build. You are not allowed to question or critique anything Trump does or you're a traitor and a libtard and un-American. It is a bad idea to fire all of the FS employees responsible for wilderness enforcement and excrement removal within THE most highly used wilderness area in our entire state, without a backup plan. I'm not going to wait for the mountains of shit to build up around the alpine groovers before I speak up. From what I know, it's hard to get shit back in the asshole that deposited it. If I thought someone else would speak up I might stay quiet, but I don't hear anything but cheering coming from the loyalists.

For my efforts in the last week I've been pigeonholed as the enemy. I'm over it. I'm over the MAGA crowd literally cheering as Trump puts down entire groups of Americans he views as the enemy while in the next breath being bent out of shape because someone called Trump a childish name. No one in my lifetime has so successfully weaponized hate speech toward other Americans while still maintaining the role of victim. So if you, cgasner, can't handle the childish nametag I've used for him, then sorry, block me, sounds like you can't handle it. I haven't directed a single insult to anyone on this forum except the Orange Narcist himself.

The problem with blocking you is you might bring a interesting point to the conversation and I actually care to look at the entire picture

U.S. consumer confidence deteriorated at its sharpest pace in 3-1/2 years in February while 12-month inflation expectations surged, offering further signs that Americans were growing anxious about the potential negative economic impact of the policies of President Donald Trump's administration

i like this because i do think it's relevant to public lands.

the market is often a good indicator of things and the market doesn't like trump's vindictive form of global foreign policy nor his domestic policy. i could say more about that but it would most certainly add momentum to the spiral of many of these threads.

nonetheless, these things widen the cracks that are already appearing.

I never heard a promise in that regard,
Been ALL over the news....

Mutiny starting:

Twenty-one workers resigned from his so-called Department of Government Efficiency in protest on Tuesday, saying in a letter that they refused to cooperate with the downsizing effort.

"We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans' sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services," the employees wrote in a resignation posted online.

There was no immediate comment from DOGE on the resignations.

yes all over the news. but would require congressional approval and, i'll just be honest, i find it laughable to think DOGE is gonna find its 2 trillion that'll trigger the 50 benjies.

if they do find their 2 trillion i predict the long term costs of those dismantled services will cost americans massively more over time.

but hey 5k to buy a few cartons of eggs amiright?
