Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Is that right?

Maybe you don't remember the Clinton years, only they did it with a scalpel and with legal methods...and the 8 year plan instead of the 8 day approach.
I am speaking of the present. This D Congress would not allow it to happen slowly and methodically. They would run interference in every conceivable way. If he was going to get it done, he had to move too quickly for them.

Don't get me wrong, the sierra club is an asinine club (today), but y'all didn't sun tzo enough. to the victors, the spoils.
Sadly, you're correct. Once, they were focused on Wilderness, which was great. Then as many organizations do, when we had lots of designated Wilderness areas, they experienced mission creep (and justification for continued existence), and jumped onto every far-left cause imaginable.

It’s pretty common knowledge at this point. Do a little research and you’ll find the email went out on Saturday with a deadline of last night at midnight.
It's amusing... I'm a federal employee. ANY federal employee, worth their integrity, knows this is 100% false. ;)

One quick thought before the lock. Make no mistake I love, absolutely love, a good conspiracy fact....er...I mean theory. I do suspect however, that not every single official in DC or the administration is all in on a grand plan to privatize wildlife or take our public lands (though some most assuredly are). I truly believe that in many cases officials are just ignorant of the nuances surrounding this issue, and I expect many would be open to listening, perhaps having conversations with people with large platforms who are passionate advocates for our public lands. Maybe if we are intentional about making an attempt to have these conversations we might actually get somewhere. I thought the opening post to this thread was very well written and I tend to agree, it's going to be ok, the world is not ending just yet. Rest assured if the events of November had gone the other way we would still be fighting for our way of life, just in different battles. So let's keep working and finding solutions, regardless of the circumstances we're faced with.

The DOI stance was that employees were expected to respond by midnight; perhaps step down guidance varied by agency, region, or office. For me it did not. While it is unclear whether this is ultimately required, any federal employee that cares about the end goal of their job (for me natural resources, especially prevention and control of invasive species) and financially protecting their families (what I define as integrity) has little other option but to comply since the unknown downsides of not complying could be very bad.

Oh man if this thread is going to take a turn to start talking punk rock, then I am so back in it! This is where me and the anti-government people can really get shoulder-to-shoulder and share some sentiment, lol.
