Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

1. I drank a whiskey drink.
2. I drank a vodka drink.
3. I drank a lager drink.
4. I drank a cider drink.
5. I sang the songs that remind me of the good times; I sang the songs that remind me of the better times.

Just curious, did you know Chumbawba before that song? Entirely different band.

Heard from one of nephews and niece today...He's an air traffic controller. She's an MD specializing in infectious diseases for the CDC .

Both got the memo to justify their jobs today...so much for air traffic controllers being exempt I guess.
I received the same from my agency. After shuffling it back and forth, agency emailed us yesterday it was no longer necessary.

Clear some air here. While it may deflate a few extremes on one side of the pendulum, the reality: it was a simple query.
Provide five or more job duties you did over the past week.
I wouldn't care either way, whether to fill it out or not.
It's my employer's intent, the executive branch, to understand our actions.

Oh man if this thread is going to take a turn to start talking punk rock, then I am so back in it! This is where me and the anti-government people can really get shoulder-to-shoulder and share some sentiment, lol.

Except they don’t like us crazy punk folks. We don’t fit their narrative! 🙃

It's patience trying
When you tell me how to live
Well you don't know anything
Your expectations are wearing thin
You won't even take a look
To see another way
You aren't even listening
Take your ideals and go away
I'm not cut from the same mold
I don't read from the same old story
I'm not cut from the same mold
Don't know who you think I should be

Would they?

What leads you to believe they would have effectively proposed a plan of reduction in 6 months, FS or otherwise? That they or other interest groups wouldn't fight it a minute longer than 6 months? Because that's exactly what would've occured, a delay, not a reduction.

Who provides the edicts to the managers to manage?

There is a reason most c-suites are insulated from the lower rungs. To provide the edicts, unemotionally invested and removed, to focus on the goal. The managers are paid to manage the EQ (emotional quotient) not the EBITDA.
Maybe that would be the reality. And maybe the end result is that you do the cuts for them and it looks just the same. But you give managers an option to manage, that's how you separate the wheat from the chaff.

I swear ain't none of you ever tried to build and maintain a team, lead by example, be a great manager for people you don't actually like, always taking the fall for your team and not throwing them under the bus, finding ways to make poor employees good... We call it adulting in my circle. And it starts by checking your ego at the door, it's not about #winning, it's about being fair and doing good work that everyone can feel a part of and be proud in their role.

Again, policy wise if the president wants to manage differently and Congress supporters him, then that's fine. There are smart, rational ways to achieve almost every goal, foreign or domestic, without alienating entire groups of people. I had a lot of hope for where we going headed, I too thought change would be good. But this isn't good. Not having any wilderness rangers in the entire Wenatchee national Forest isn't good. Making existing employees fearful isn't good.

The true soundtrack to rugged individualism and rejection of government hegemony. Country nouveau can't even compare.

Ah well, nobody's perfect. If they could acquire the taste, then there's definitely a lot they could get behind.

How did the cat get so fat, indeed.
Beat me to it...
NoFX, Offspring, Suicidal Tendencies, Butthole Surfers, Blitz, Replacements...
The music that had us ripping burns and launching dunes. Adrenaline junkie days of sheer bliss! Haha!
How TF did we survive and was it our swimmers that brought us, "My [new] generation", to quote another great song? :)

Folks were tougher in those days. We weren't softened up on smart phones and those pre-made, no-crust pb&j sandwiches.

I did start this thread awhile ago

No better time than the present to add to it
Awesome! Though I think right now you hit a tune that keeps the peace here. Great way to break from the banshee screamers demanding to be heard. :)

Just hopped over there. Have five video posts within. Going to scroll through and listen to a few for my night closure of Hunt Talk.

Sleep well my fellow hunt talk members for tomorrow we'll be sounding our keyboards again!

Phuck him 🖕🏼
“There was a lot of genius in sending it. We’re trying to find out if people are working, and so we’re sending a letter to people, ‘Please tell us what you did last week.’ If people don’t respond, it’s very possible that there is no such person or they’re not working,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
But it’s genius…
