Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Its actually a very recent change from what I hear from a local realtor. The market is decent--but buyers suddenly aren't wanting to move or are not wanting to sell as they are worried about being able to find and afford their next place. Not hard to see why. The prospect of job loss from all the actions of the administration shuts down a lot of purchasing desire, and the prospect of interest rate increases and fewer buyers has people wanting to stay in their homes until things shake out.

Realty markets like stock markets are hurt by uncertainty and fear of what's coming.
That's a good point, and it notches nicely with the topic of discussion. People are all too willing to be propagandized into being scared.

Someone told me that in 2016 too. The Boogey Man never came.

I see outrage oscillation has reached fevered pitch level again....

Walmart (WMT.N), opens new tab and Target (TGT.N)
, opens new tab are bickering behind the scenes with their suppliers over proposed price hikes on everything from cake pans, tote bags and toys to other merchandise.
The outcome of their talks will determine when and by how much merchandise prices rise - and even which products retailers will keep on store shelves.

Major retailers say they can't just raise retail prices without losing market share and alienating American shoppers. Their stance is leading to acrimonious discussions about pricing with goods suppliers whose costs have shot up following President Donald J. Trump's tariffs.

To risk having brands kicked off Walmart's shelves because of a dispute over pricing can badly hurt a supplier.
Some retailers have already asked her to consider lowering her wholesale prices, she said. "People are getting creative," Vaccarella said. Her company is also looking at alternative manufacturing sites in Sri Lanka, Vietnam and other lower-cost factories in China, she said.

Have any of you suffered any negative consequences yet?
I can't get the FS to respond to 3 different inquiries regarding public land impacts. I ended up submitting a FOIA request on one of them, and was immediately hit with an auto reply that due to staffing shortages outside of their control they could not comply with the required timelines but would "respond as soon as they could". It's making it more difficult for me to be a public land, water, and wildlife advocate. Two trailheads "near-ish" me have closed due to staffing shortages.

Dude, nothing you share is going to do, or change, a damn thing. MAGA is unbreakable in their loyalty. Change your tactic. Even your sympathizers are getting sick of the constant bombardments.

Spent a little time hiking on some BLM land last week in Southern UT. Looked eerily similar to last year and every other year. Stopped at a FS parking area for snowmobilers on Sunday. All looked good. Bluehouse had not overflowed. Yet!

Meet with DOI on a mine plan approval project last week. Project is proceeding on plan. BLM came out to to complete a quarterly inspection last week. Passed!

All is working as planned in my neck of the woods.
