Caribou Gear Tarp

Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

Meanwhile a (previously) strong red rural base suffered another leopard face attack today.

I just finished getting our taxes done, for another year. We owe Uncle Sam another $1300 above what was withheld. It isn't too difficult to figure out what date, he will get his money. I told my wife that so long as Trump is in office, I prefer he wait for money from me, than the other way around.

harsh...

I heard the Canadians are considering not selling electricity to those in border states. They might just as well put their cash in a furnace as to allow generated power to go unsold. Unlike oil and gas, large scale electricity cannot be easily stored and must be sold and consumed immediately or else it becomes lost and unrecoverable revenue.

It’s a trade war. Ontario doesn’t care about the short term revenue.

The threat to shut off electricity to the US is a serious issue. Ontario and multiple states electric grids are interconnected. If Ontario flips the switch, a blackout similar to the one in 2003 can occur.

And the threat of a blackout expanding it's impacts well beyond the states ontario sells power to is real.

Agree, no idle threat. Im worried more about Manitoba following suite for my state.

All these decisions have ripple effects not being taken into account by the administration.

Maybe that's what we need to make those in charge think about what's going on.

I think most of us could do without power for an hour or two. When millions and millions of voters start screaming it SHOULD get the kids in DC a reason to calm down and think before they jump. Or not.

Received my refund in less than 5 days. I'm going to guess it never touched human hands.

Partisanship is a weird thing

There are otherwise intelligent people that will tell you with a straight face, something ridiculous, such as “the eXpeRts were right about covid” or “Iraq had WMDs and the invasion was necessary to prevent an imminent attack on the USA”
“Marijuana is dangerous”
Or as the eyepatch senator from Texas would say “politicians trading stocks is not an issue”
