2007 Colorado Archery Bighorn
Spent almost the whole season hunting one ram. This was a 3 day “clear my head” trip from the frustration of trying to get stickbow close to that ram. Met and became friends (still to this day) with a resident hunter. He had some awesome mules and we packed into the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness to see if we could find some different rams to hunt.
The ram I was hunting gave me at least one 2500’ climb each day; sometimes three. I was in such good shape after that month!
10,500’ and always wanted to go back and fish that stream; I lost count of the trout I would kick up crossing it so many times

Right after I took this picture I saw a medium sized boar grizzly walking in the saddle just behind the stock. He swung to the right and crossed right below us, just out of sight. We figured he must have winded us and took off so we went down to look at the tracks where he crossed the saddle below the horses and mule. We picked up his track and followed it around the side hill below where we were glassing. He hadn't gone far and in a blink of an eye we saw him moving back toward us at about 40-50 yards. He stood and looked us over for a while and we yelled at him and he reluctantly took off...we ran him down a big open ridge for quite a while.

On my Yukon hunt, my parents both retired that year and wanted to go with me. We drove and camp the whole way, eventually getting as far north as Fort McPherson, NWT. Saw a lot of country on that trip.
