Many years ago, like almost 50, I did an opening morning deer hunt in the far northwest corner of Colorado. My ex-wife and her brother were with me, and he had to be back in Denver the next day so we only did a morning hunt.
As we were leaving the area a Game Warden stopped us. One of the first questions from the Warden was "Why I wasn't wearing orange?" I told him that I was not wearing it because I was not hunting, I was driving my bright red pickup on a County road.
He then asked to see my orange vest, and when I showed it to him he said that it was faded and not bright enough, and if he saw me wearing it outside of my truck he would give me a ticket. I left Colorado for Montana a year or two later.
As to the OP's question, I almost always take the orange off for the hero pics.
