Pronghorn Meat Myths

Every antelope I've shot were pretty good eating. You can tell you're eating something wild, for sure, it's got a strong flavor to it, but not that skunky, over-gamey, sort of flavor that most people don't care for. Pronghorn have been pretty good for me, and all I've ever done is gut them and drag them over to pickup. The big game I've had mixed results on is mule deer - I realize this is not the muley forum, but they're the ones of which, I've shot a few that was hardly edible. Seems with them the more you trim away the fat (tallow) the better they turn out. I don't know that I've ever shot an antelope that actually had much fat on it.
