Predatory wildlife question

THere are varmit boards that if you shoot a yote in the spring your unethical. I think its the coyote gods, but at the same time the guy who owns the board shoots them all year long( thats his job). I find it funny how people toss ethics into something/ almost everything now adays. I guess its like status quo.

I shoot them all year I shoot pregant ones I shoot pups I shoot them all. yote's and p-dogs are mother natures balistic jelly.

Ithaca, I agree, it's wrong to intentionally make an animal suffer for any reason. But on the other hand, I wouldn't pass up a shot at a coyote running dead away, and I don't wait for a prairie dog to turn broadside. I've never lost sleep over poor hits on those kinds of animals. Ever used Decon to get rid of mice? Have you ever practiced with archery tackle on gophers or prairie dogs?? Man, talk about awful. I just may rot in hell...

Reply..

call me old fashoned.... i feel this way with wolves, coyotes, and other animals....i guess its because of my farming background !!!i guess the hunters who grew up in the city would feel differently...

Mom used to use these traps on the farm. Talk about gross... She will probably be burning in hell, right next to me.
The Sadistic GLUE TRAP

PETA on Glue Traps

When my son was about 1-yr old we made a poor decision to try a Chinese restraunt in Belgrade MT. He crawled out from underneath the table and I was horrified to notice a glue trap stuck on his shoe.. Dinner wasn't good, have never been back.

We used them as well in the barns (damn lazy cats) and fly paper also...too think of all those poor suffering flies stuck with no where to go....

Nice link Greenie.. LMAO

Here's a course for anyone with any questions about ethics. I hope you pass. Here's something for all you environment rape and plunderers-------------".........and to have the courage to care beyond our narrow self-interest and short-term gain......................:

This course is designed to highlight the basic ethical principles that govern behavior in the human community. These principles draw from the major worldviews of thought: utilitarianism, Kantianism, egoism, religions, and the more contemporary ethics of care. Each presents a framework with methods or tools (such as the Golden Rule) for applying to situations and coming to judgments about what is right and good.

Values highlighted in the course are:

Interdependency – Everything is connected and interdependent. Humans live in a global human community and are impacted by life experiences of others across the room and around the world: socially, economically, ecologically, and culturally. Ignoring the needs of others within the human community invites suffering and disaster, and a weakening of the web of life.

Sustainability –Organizations, communities, and civilizations sustain over time because they respect and adapt to the governing forces and latticework of life. The building blocks and sustenance for daily life emerge from the earth’s fertility. Respecting the earth’s ecological balance and interdependencies allows for rejuvenation of nature and the replenishing of resources for meeting basic human needs over time.

Dignity and Self Determination – As nature has governing forces, so do humans. The inherent dignity of every person (as defined in 1948 in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights), commands respect at all levels of social relations. Core to respecting human dignity and self-determination are: access to information, to opportunity, and to decision making authority.

Honesty, Truth, and Caring – These three are partnered as a way to recognize the relationships between them that leverage the best in each of the others, e.g., honesty without care can wound and divide; with care it heals and unifies. The truth we see calls for us to be honest with ourselves and each other, and to have the courage to care beyond our narrow self-interest and short-term gain.

But is there anything in there about glue traps??

Greenhorn- For what it's worth, I spoke to the Orkin Man. He told me the glue traps seem inhumane but are in reality quite quick in most cases (as many of the mice die of a heart attack shortly after getting caught). They are also very effective and the cleanest method of trapping mice. He may be biased but seems to know what he is talking about.
