Plans with your dog this year

Excited to see how Slash does on doves Sept 1. He was 3.5 months last year on the opener and put thirty birds in his mouth over two days. He will be even better this year.

No sharpies for him last year but that will change in 2021.

A month later he got his first teal and by December he had it all figured out. Hopefully another good waterfowl year.

Hopefully we have time for some pheasants. No plans to kill a sage-grouse, Slash is above that.;)

Right now we are resting; 0300 grizz in camp, ran him off. 0700 getting my boat ready, bear comes strolling up the beach, chased him off. Damn dogs love chasing bears. Ptarmigan opens up here on Tuesday, seeing fair numbers while fishing, Late Sept sweetie wants to start a road trip up to Alberta, see some folks, then down through the Dakotas for ditch parrots in both states(folks who fish with us in Ak) we’ve got some plans near home for Chukar in the snake and the steens, more ditch parrots in Oregon but I’m not guiding this fall. November we’re going to combo on birds and deer in Montana, More Chukar and Huns and some quail in Oregon.

My best chukar hunting areas burned up this summer and have a new addition to the family arriving any day. Dog work may consist of some stocked pheasants and grouse after elk season. I kinda feel bad for the dog as she’s getting better behaved all the time and loves being out

I declared my charity case Brittany useless a couple of years ago. Last week she shocked me by pointing on something, and then running around behind to flush 8-12 ruffed grouse in ones and twos. I may keep her after all.

Looking forward to this fall! Dove, grouse, hun, quail, and pheasant close to home. Hoping to chase sharpies and a sage bomber now that I'm required to buy a tag 🤨. Chuckar in my home state and possibly two of the bordering states. 20210808_183750.jpg Just picked up a new four stroke for the skiff and might shoot waterfowl again this year after a five year hiatus.

Pup healed up okay?

We started off this season last week with a hog. We will hunt some doves in September and hopefully find some quail later on. The Yorkie just fetches the empties and bosses the other 2 around.

She's doing great and would never know by seeing her run. If her rookie trainer can get his act together she will complete her HZP mid September.
Awesome! Is that the test Lee is running? If you need any help don’t be afraid to reach out.
