Planning a bivy hunt in the Gallatin

If you don't see elk poop, tracks, rubs, or hear bugling then I'd be moving on. Just keep an eye out for griz.

when I am bivy hunting I am pretty much constantly moving until I get into elk. In the morning I pack up camp onto my back before heading out for the days hunt, unless there is a bull bugling near by. Thats the advantage of traveling light and small, you can work a bull into the evening and not worry about a long trip back to camp. Just remember to put a little distance between your camp and the elk and have a low impact camp.
