Pink camo, #dadbodhunter, and a whole lotta stupid!

I don’t know if you’re looking new new, but if I had to buy something other than my 18 Tundra I really like the 2010-19ish Chevy/GMC 2500s with the old 6.0 gas V8. I used a few of those hard and I liked them a lot. Kind of like the 2nd gen tundras, they were pretty technologically old fashioned compared to a lot of the new stuff out there now but they just worked. I still prefer my Tundra though. I don’t know anything about the new GM 6.6 gas.
The landscaping contractor we use is converting from diesel trucks to the GM 6.6 gas. Trucks cost less. Maintenance as far as oil changes are less. And they tow well. mtmuley

What an awesome hunt! So much fun to have kids along for the hunt.

I took my girlfriends 5 year old hunting for the first time this year. He loved it, and somehow, I shot my target buck I'd been watching for a few months now. His mom was just about to come get him from the stand as he was starting to get squirrely and restless, but 2 hours in a stand will do that to a 5 year old! So 10 minutes before she showed up, the buck showed up and presented a quick shot.

I can't believe a new motor for a Toyota is $15-$20k... I had to put a new motor in my 2007 silverado back in like 2018 I think, and it was $5k. That was a brand new motor.

I too am skeptical of the price to swap engines . My Chevy 6.0 (A far superior motor with roots that goes deep into Americas' history ) is $6200 and the swap is like $1500-$2000 depending what needs to be replaced with it , hoses , belts , filters ....

I am looking at the engine swap and it appears that the cost isn’t as much as I first thought. Depends on the engine that goes in. Might keep it after all but I will be a second truck because I need something in the meantime

Zero reason to spend 6200 on a motor. Even a rebuilt one at an engine shop would be less.

I did a full rebuild with ported heads and cam for under 3000.

I’ve sourced my own low mile used engine on the site above and had the dealer install it. I would absolutely do it again if the body is good. For my 2015 traverse it was right around 3k out the door. Just took some extra coordinating with the service manager. They can’t buy used engines but can install them. I had to go get it and deliver it.

I agree , I'm looking at all my options . At 165,000 and running great , but my plan is to keep it going as long as I can .
Before we left Mi I'd do it in my garage , assemble it and install . Now I'm not set up for it , got rid of everything .
I was just using that price as a reference , but thank you !

That thing has 100k left in it if you took care of it. Michigan salt eats a Chevy before the 6.0 goes, lol.

What a season you've had @Dsnow9 !
And an excellent "cake topper" to finish off the adventures with an amazingly tough pre-teen.

Congratulations

My 6.0 is at 192,000 and running strong. Awesome engines. It replaced a 5.7 truck I put 387,000 miles on. mtmuley
