I got a weatherby mark v 257 mag and I want to mount my leupold vx6 3-18×44 to it. This being my first scope mount I'm not sure to go with a picatinny rail or regular mounts and weaver style rings? Any suggestions on which way to go? Thanks

Burris XTB 25 MOA Steel rails are excellent along with steel Burris Zee Rings. I usually stay away from the aluminum rings unless they are 7075 even then steel is just better.

I think this is a personal preference thing. I am a Talley guy and prefer rings vs pic rail.

Another vote for Talleys.

I know people like the flexibility of a rail but I don’t like the look or pushing my scope any higher.

Pic rails supposedly eliminate the need to lap rings. I like the look of the Leupold Mark 4 rings, but the steel ones plus your scope will add noticeable weight.
