Photo Regrets

Dinkshooter,

If my scanner was working I'd show you a picture of a bear I shot when I was in high school that would make yours look like a 7 footer...and I'm not kidding. I have it hanging up with some other furs and more than one person has asked if its a black coyote...fuggin' funny.

On the plus side, the tanning was cheap.

My first elk, 1972 with my Granddad doing the gut job, my dad taking the pic, you would think with a Pocket 110 you could get the whole elk

Bad camo and an even worse hat, but one of the best bears I have shot. A touch over 6' perfect cinnamon color, and yep I sold the hide. Love to have him back!

No regret here. My Granddad shot this cow. Turned out to be the last elk he ever shot. He wanted to gut the damn thing, but had a bad hip and could barely walk. So I drag it, guts and all about 200 yards, then go down and pack him up the hill to the elk so he could do his thing. I then drag both him and the elk to the truck, good thing some loggers came by to help load. He was 88 years old and died the next spring.

Could never figure out why those late season moose tags had better odds and were eithe sex. Duh,,seems by mid December most of the bulls had dropped their antlers, This is one of the only bulls I saw still packing horns. That hurt for 7 years.

I've got a fetus hero shot like that, no regrets on that one. My mother might have a different opinion however, she was not impressed. Almost got a single Christmas card made up with that picture to send her, but thought better of it.

On the list of bad (or at least odd) pictures I have, this one has got to be up there. No regrets though. I love it.

World famous Corral Bar.....wish I had back all the coin I dropped in that place back in the day.

I had the "Corral Burger" nine days in a row for dinner in 1994...

The owner was at the last FWP Gallatin Canyon/wolf elk shindig and said his revenue was 30% this November compared to that of the early 90s.

I decided to get the scanner going too.

This moose was a once in a lifetime ND tag I had in 1994. This is the only field photo I have. We took a bunch the next day,but that is not the same to me. Our excuse was it was starting to get dark
