After two years of campaigning against KFC, PETA announced on February 28, 2005, that we would be suspending all protests against the chain in the hopes that our most recent negotiations would result in improved conditions for the 750 million chickens slaughtered each year for KFC’s restaurants. Unfortunately, after several additional meetings and discussions, KFC has refused to adopt any part of the four-point plan compiled by the company’s own animal welfare experts.

Because of KFC’s refusal to act, PETA is reigniting its campaign, declaring a month of action and basically “all-out war” against KFC. We need your help to send a strong message to KFC that its cruelty to animals will not be tolerated. We’ve come up with a variety of ways you can help the campaign and earn Street Team points at the same time. Best of all, work with PETA to organize a demonstration against your local KFC and you’ll be rewarded with one of PETA’s “Bloody Buckets,” a “Kentucky Fried Cruelty” stencil, and 3,000 Street Team points.

Check out http://www.peta2.com/takecharge/t-bloodybucket.asp?c=m00 for all the info on this latest peta2 mission. If you live in the United Kingdom or elsewhere in Europe, please take a look at http://www.peta2.co.uk/getactive/g-kfcmask.asp?c=m00.

Thank you all for staying active for animals.

Sincerely,

Christopher Garnett
