Outfitters, WHY do we (you) need 'Em?

Reading this thread and looking at all these beer pics ain’t gonna help a man stay on the wagon but beer pics sure are more entertaining than a Midwesterner complaining about people hogging “ their land “ in other states. Who knows this could be as good as the cheese thread some day.

I think it should be mandatory that weekend warriors foolish enough to order diy building materials from Lowe's be required to use an outfitter when hunting out west. Clearly they are a danger to themselves and the public in general, and in need of professional supervision.

No beer for me last night because the boat valet decided to be a smart mouth punk and I got thrown off the dock and out of the bar stone cold sober.
And because no one else in my family drinks a drop and I feel like a bad person drinking in front of them.
Dropped off 5 people and got out of there without having to pay the docking fee tho.

As a Midwesterner, I’m halfway pleased that guy got the ban hammer. I’ve gone on 6 hunting trips to WY since 2013 and have gone with an outfitter every time. My personal experience has been pretty positive, and leads me to continue booking my hunts every year with them.

Since you're a Midwest guy why don't you hunt your own local national forests? Perhaps we're tired of out of state guys coming to OUR national forests and taking OUR wildlife and leaving a mess behind.

I don't think anyone in there right mind can blame out of state guys on the mess left behind.

Agree, outfitters have there place, I like hunting on my own but have gone outfitted just to supply a cabin and a point in the right direction. They always seemed to be in tune to what they do.
Although over the last decade or so I notice larger scale outfitters who boast hunts in multiple states, maybe they then farm out to locals, seems like too many "hands in" for me.

I guess this could go for all western states. why do we, as sportsman, do we need this parasites? Like maggots swimming around in a dead pile, outfitters and guides profit off the efforts and moneys that YOU, the sportsman, contribute to enhance wildlife and the places that they live.

Outfitters and Guides are always the first on the public teat. I don't like 'em, don't think they're "regal" or "noble" and and am damn tired of 'em.

Just an angry white guy who's tired of those bastages making a living off our wildlife. I vote YAY to de-monetize 'em. Unfortunately, these dudes are pretty tight with the legislature and the G & F. Heck, the Wyoming Outfitters even have their own law enforcement and there's a rumor that all licensed Outfitters and Guides can and will be deputized to check licenses, bag limits etc. of sportsman.

Hey one of you Outfitters and/or Guides - try to check my license, A-holes....
