Looking into a rifle antelope hunt somewhere other than Wyoming.

Montana would top the list. Not looking for trophies just opportunity.

Better start buying points Montana is getting harder to draw each year . I had 6 bonus points and drew and I feel like I won the lottery . Buy points

Buy a bonus point this year and apply next year. Keep doing that until you draw. Could get lucky first year, or it could take several.

New Mexico is the best option if you are willing to pay a little for access. There are parts of the state where you can get a landowner tag and hunt private for not a lot more than the new price of the special tag in Wyoming. Those are areas are not as likely to produce trophy quality bucks but if you are just looking for a hunt that might be an option.

We went DIY on private in New Mexico a couple of times before they went to the new system. We had great hunts.

It will take a few years, but western South Dakota has decent public land opportunities. The antelope aren’t probably found in as great of numbers as the other western big game states, but it’s pretty good.

I’ll second South Dakota. Can be hit or miss but I’ve had success there.
