if a hunter get`s a tag legally,how does that relate to poaching?

I think I am almost convinced that Poaching helps the wildlife and the budgets of the Fish and Game more than the Auctions and the Raffles.
I want to thank Lost and Tom for helping me see the benefit of Poaching, and to know that if I start poaching, I am doing it to help the animals and the F&G's budget.

I admit I've been gone for a while, and they think differently in New York about everything, but what is the common thread between poaching and auction tags?
Poaching= Illegal, $$paid are fines and not costs, game is confiscated so all you wind up with is the bill and a rap sheet.
Auction tags= Big $$ paid for a legal hunt, usually includes the price of taxidermy, you have a prize trophy and a great mount and wonderful memories, the state gets big $$.
Other than the state winding up with the $$, I see no parallels.. What did I miss?

A few states (Idaho is one) are talking about expanding their auction/raffle tags to pay for some other programs.
Some groups are trying to get two mule deer tags for Antelope Island in the Salt Lake. One tag for auction and one for drawing. This place has not been hunted for over 20 years! They estimate the auction would bring over $100K a year! That would go along way in many projects.
For these tags, yes!!! Making things better for wildlife takes money and time. Without the money how are we to do habitat improvements? Education? Law Enforcements?
These tags raise needed money and are much easier to get done than raising taxes.
