OnX Hunt Research Tools

I was thumbing through some nm odds. They are off. Enough for me to know just by looking that it's not right from memory.
It is hard to figure out the NM odds from the NMGF spreadsheet because some people draw on 1st choice, some on 2nd, and some on 3rd, so you have to do calculations to determine the single number. It also makes the odds from YTY jump around. I checked what I thought was your tag and it looks like their math was right. The phrase 'Close enough for government work!' should apply.

I can't remember what units it was for. Not the one I drew iirc it may have been for archery deer. Either way I double checked them and it was off. Could've been the season dates. I just remember they had some numbers way off.

The old top rut was great. Onx really needs to get on this project asap as the new draw odds tool as it is currently is not a good tool at all. It really hurts their brand that its not ready when top rut was great.

I was wondering the same thing, if anyone could give a comparison.

On the other hand OnX says I'm a shoe in for the AZ elk tag I thought I was 6-7 years away from. :ROFLMAO:

Anyone here have a personal comparison for onx vs gohunts mapping? I could be persuaded.
I used Gohunt and OnX maps both for a couple of years. I dropped Gohunt last year. The user interface on maps isn't as smooth and the odds are largely available from the agencies, so I had to choose one. Part (or most) of it could be that I had OnX for so long and just got used to the app. I know some people had issues with maps downloading on the phone.

OnX bought Toprut from Steve Cordle, a cpl years ago, and HuntinFool used Toprut thru the Onx Elite benefits program. Last year Onx developed their Research Tools as a replacement for Toprut temporarily leaving both options available. Last month they turned off Toprut, leaving their research Tools as the direct replacement. Huntinfool is now using the Onx Research Tools, still thru the Benefits program.

As for those Research Tools, they're shiit. I called and bitched the first morning and suggest all you do the same.

Copy that .. Would go hunt be my best bet for draw odds then ,?

Holy crap, what a junk show of a way to try and portray odds. I've been a GoHunt for odds person and OnX for maps person. This research tool is pathetic. When you go into certain state/units there is no information regarding which subunit is is for. And the actual draw odds do not correspond to the state published data at all. They show me at almost 100% draw odds when I look at the state published data I have about 7 years until I'm at 100% draw odds. Definitely will not be using this "research" tool for anything.
