What piece of hunting equipment has endured through the years for you? Something you never would think of upgrading. That old, reliable, gotta-have-it item?

In the days of high tech blade and handle designs, my Kinfolks skinning knife that my great grandfather brought back from a trip to Alaska still does the job for me. I'd say it is around 50 years old. My father used it before I was old enough to hunt.

How about you?

i have an old buck knife that was my grandpa's i use it alot still, lost it 3 years ago and spent 4 days looking for it ended up finding it.

I like you have a Puma Skinner that is almost 50yrs old and still the best blade I got. I am getting a new damascus skinning knife made by a good friend of mine, but the Puma will never stay home. My Brother-in-Law is the one who gave me that & his Pre 64 Winchester 30-30 that I will always cherish them. My father did not hunt & it was he who took me out and showed me the woods and the joys of the outdoor world. Take God for Men like that. Thank you Jesse.

Well, Mine aren't that old. I have a "buck lite" my dad got me when I was 13 for my birthday. I have used it to gut/skin almost every animal since then. The blade is getting smaller and smaller..... I have no need to get a new knife (have 30 knives...just never use them!)

For a long time I shot a Model 721 06' that was built in the early 50's... Great Rifle.. .but then I inherited a brand new Browning Abolt and started shooting that. Kinda feel bad leaving the old Remington in the locker...

Boy... Something from the past that I use currently... a dutch oven - would be the item I use that has seen several decades...

A buddy has a wall tent that has scribbles from each hunt the tent was used... Success, failures, great times... some not so great... A history passed down from father to son... Really an enjoyable experience to follow the years, seasons, hunts - events. Think this wall tent historical sharpie writings extended back to 1973...

I recently tried to revamp my old tent I damaged with mildew... didn't survive. My new one is on the path to build some history for future use.

1958 vintage Winchester model 70 30-06 featherweight. Took 4 whitetail with it over the weekend.

.250-3000 savage. My great grandpa bought this gun. My grandpa, dad and brother all kille their first deer with it. My great grandpa did some pretty cool engravings on it. I should take some pics and post them. I wouldn't sell this rifle for 100 grand.

I have 2 items.

Both are articles of cloth.

One is a pair of pants with Pockets that jsut hang down and have holes in them and wore out but are my lucky pants.

The other is my Orange Knom hat :D

I had a boonie hat that I have killed every animal with a bow out from under. This year that hat disapeared after my successful antelope hunt and I haven't killed an animal with my bow since. That hat was almost 20 years old.

My father's Mod 11-48 Remington autoloader. He bought it in 1947 when it first came out and I still use it for ducks and turkey. If that gun could talk! He likes to boast that it has killed a small mountain of game. I do know it was shot so much with high brass shells that it shot the threaded end off the magazine tube and Remington fixed it for free and wished him another 50 years use out of it.

Now that's a caliber you don't see or hear about much any more but used to be pretty popular before all the -06 variants and wildcats. I found a spent piece of brass from one on a rock pinnacle just below the WY line back in the 80's and it had so much patina it was nearly black. I often wonder how much game has passed within view of that vantage point since that round was fired.

The ole model 99 savage in the 250-3000 take down could be used as a 410 also. They had a barrel that you could replace the rifled barrel for a shotgun barrel. Been looking for one for my Uncles take down for years. Pretty cool little rifle and great round for the time.

Dad's 338 win mag...he's got documents from hunts back to 1972. I think before he gave it to me, it had harvested an animal for every 6.1 days hunting.

Dad's old pocket knife that he used to butcher lamb or deer with. Just scared to H that I will leave it in a gut pile. He would always wipe it off and put it back in his pocket until he needed it again. Now if I can just keep doing that?

I have an old Western knife that my grandpa gave me when I was 8 or 9. It has been bloody on every animal I have ever shot, even gave me stiches once!

It is a long bow that my father made in the year of my birth (1946) - although it has lost a few pounds of pull it is still a good bunny buster. The menories will never fade.
