My uncle Jimmy 85 who was the last of my mom's family passed away last week. Vietnam Vet will be interned at New Orleans VFW Memorial cemetery on Monday.

Thanks to everyone who served! I don’t have any pictures from my Dad’s time in Vietnam. He was drafted in 1968 came home in 1970. He has never showed us any pictures…mom said he burnt everything he brought back when he got home. All he kept was a bronze star, but he never talked about it. I’m proud to be the son of a Veteran!!

My neighbor past a couple months ago Korea war vet shoveled his driveway every time it snowed. The first time he was in his late 70s and he caught me with a flat shovel gave me a snow shovel after that. He always offered me money but I said you already game this shovel. I’ll miss that guy always had great stories. Thanks for everyone that has served.

Had one issued to me three times. Joys of a contact maintenance team and being in a recovery section.

I was and M113 driver, started out with a .45 pistol, then got the grease gun. I would take the bolt out while in the field. Dropped about 2/3’s of the weight.
