Officer shoots driver w his own gun

I would say men in LE have done a pretty good job of opening the door to assaults, lawsuits, and even death.

Not every woman who enters LE is cut out for it. Same with men. Being a bad cop isn’t unique nor exclusive to either gender, nor is being a darned good one.
I agree with you...and I'm not calling every woman LEO a "bad cop". I'm just saying that they pose a much more significant liability to life, lawsuits etc. than male cops. It's just biologically not in their nature to fight with a subject, to have to use lethal force, to raise their voice at a subject if they're not complying. I've met some good ones...but I can only count them on one hand.

We will just have to agree to disagree.

There are plenty of women in law enforcement that are competent. Hiring a person mentally, physically, or otherwise incapable is possible independent of gender.

I wont disagree that the average woman is less physically capable than the average man - but averages dont define individuals and individuals define job performance...
I agree with some of that for sure. I'm just saying women aren't as capable as men when it comes to law enforcement work. I've seen it first hand time and time again. There's a reason only 14% of LEO's are women (that's nationwide, including every agency). Same reason the construction field, roofers, engineers, doctors, military, brick layers are primarily men. Women gravitate towards the teaching/nursing fields more so than men.

How do you feel about the military draft?
Fine with it.

But our new Sec Def would never be on board, so it’s kind of a moot point.

Have you worked in law enforcement previously?
No, I was never interested in that as a career, though the thought I was biologically incapable of it never crossed my mind.

It's a tough career. Guys I know that have 20+ years on are so jaded it's not even funny.

Not at all. Just a new fan. What is your most dangerous story?
With 18,000+ messages I would assume (or hope) that you're retired and have nothing else to do. I don't know you from Adam so I'm not going to get into that on a public forum. Does being shot at twice count as a story?

Not condescending at all. You (and women) are free to do whatever you want. I just don't think law enforcement is a safe career for you. Have you worked in law enforcement previously? And I could argue the safe gun handling between men/women until the cows come home...but I'm not going to open that can of worms.
Well, you did just open it and it shows a pretty stupid and ignorant attitude.

“The incident resulted in new policy from the sheriff's office about how to deal with encounters where someone is legally armed, according to the internal affairs report. Now, officers should not seize a firearm if a person is lawfully carrying it, according to the report.”
Maybe that department will rethink the practice of unnecessarily disarming people who are legally carrying for a traffic stop. "For my safety and your safety" we'll have you step out of the vehicle (increases risk profile) and we'll have an officer reach into your holster and retrieve a loaded weapon that was previously not being touched (again, increases risk profile).
