Driving down to the Navajo Res yesterday and when we hit the Virgin River Canyon south of St George......110 degrees! Spent the night in Mesquite and it stayed 107ish til late. Not sure how you guys that live down here deal with that. Do you get out and scout deer in temps like that!

I will be in Vegas next Friday. Not really looking forward to it, but it the wife says we are going, I am going. Not leaving the confines of A/C, for sure.

It's usually over 100 here with the humidity not far from saturation levels but it's been raining for the last two weeks...feels like we've stolen a couple weeks of respite from the sauna.

Hey Fin,
The Mrs and I will be in Vegas next weekend as well. We should talk...

Shoot me a PM with the details. I'm always in charge of buying the beer, so hopefully that works for you. See if we can get one of the sports bars to play the show on Friday or Sunday. Worked last year, even though they think I am full of crap when I tell them that I want to watch my TV show. But, they humor me and change the channel to OC.

i just got back from a week in Zion, spent plenty of time wading and swimming in the Virgin. It was an oven. While hiking i saw crazy people there wearing fleece jackets when it is 100 degrees out. Id sweat my coconuts off. hippies are so wierd.

I worked 2 summers in St. George landscaping and it was miserable. Start at 5 am and end just after lunch. You couldn't wear shorts because the red sand would burn your knees and legs while putting in sprinkler pipe kneeling. Even the shovels couldn't be left out in the sun or you couldn't grab the handles to start digging. No thanks I stick with the sucky cold and funky weather patterns we have here in Montana.

What i think is funny is how the east coasters are whining about how they are dying and you guys in Arizona, Nevada, Utah all deal with these temps every year, yet you don't get the media attention they are getting.

Hey, hey, hey, Lawnboy....easy there about us east coast guys!

It was 104 here on Wednesday and unlike you chumps we have the curse of HUMIDITY. I am not into those "feels like" temps reported but suffice it to say 104 with 97% humidity is miserable!

Having experienced both, I would say I'd much rather take 110 and 5% humidity in Phoenix than 95 with 97% humidity on the east coast. Call me a whiner, but I HATE humidity.

Absolutely; the really dry heat is the "best". In northern NV, we lick the 100s occasionally but generally in the 90s in the valley - with single digit humidity, you can't beat it. I remember stepping off a plane in Florida and getting smacked with their humidity hammer sucked.

PM sent :D

I was in St. Louis last Wednesday and Thursday - miserable. Hot and humid with occasional thunderstorms. It is nice here at home - down into the high 50's low 60's at night and into the 70's and 80's during the day with low humidity. Perfect!

OK Ok I will agree the humidity is brutal. I still say the media caters to you guys though:D The same thing happens in the winter we get 12 inches it heads through the Dakotas and to the the upper mid west and then suddenly the storm turns into the blizzard of the century.
I'm just saying;)
