Northeast Wyoming Elk

Hey guys, I have 2 years of preference in Wyoming and I plan on applying this winter. Is there elk on public in the units 116 or 117 that a guy can actually deal with or is it a private land deal? I would like to hunt there cuz it’s only a 7 hour drive from home vs 10 and I could do more than one trip

Elk in NE WY can be really transient. You could always grab a cow tag and a deer tag go out and fill the freezer then see if its worth the points and cash for a bull tag.
