Got the itchin to hunt northeast wyo. for a chance at a whitetail and don't have a clue where to start. I have hunted northwest Nebraska several times a few years ago and never really shot a decent whitetail so I was thinking of the other side of the border. I have heard that there is pretty decent hunting in units 1 and 2 but I'm curious as to how much public land or national forest there is available to hunt. I would really appreciate any info to help steer me in the right direction. I'm looking at the rifle season and shooting for 2015 season, sure wish we had whitetails in Utah. Thanks for any help.

FWIW, there are whitetails in Utah. They were confirmed, IIRC, in 1996 in Cache Valley. Though there aren't alot of them, the DWR does check in a few every year.

Yes, I am aware of this but it is less than a few, and your odds of finding one of them is like winnning the lottery. thanks
