NM Deer Hunt January 2025

Well didn't get the thread started before the hunt started but today was opening day for us here for archery deer. Reason i didnt call it a muley thread is ive got a chance at a couple decent whitetail bucks as well when the wind is right to hunt them. Went out this morning for awhile found a couple bucks and 3x3 and a 4x4 but nothing I was willing to shoot. Was a foggy morning couldn't glass anything pass 200 yards hardly.

I am hoping you have a productive new year. It already seems like things are kicking in even on day one.

Well this afternoon felt kinda lame. Only does I saw were way across on some private and the one buck I saw was a spindly horned 4x4 that I wasn't willing to shoot didn't get pics of him cause I didn't feel like wasting my time stalking him. Hopefully get to go hunt tomorrow evening where the whitetails are hanging out.

Brother just whiffed a shot due to not accounting for the wind on a decent buck, watched the arrow sail literally a hair breadth from the front of his chest perfect height. But he found them bedded a again and is stalking now.
