Fellas, as some of you know I have been organizing and hosting Conservation Campouts across the West over the last several years. These projects have now stretched across 8 states and ranged from fence removal, pinyon-juniper thinning, sagebrush planting, migration corridor marking, and many more projects.
To kick off this year, I have set up a weekend project on March 26-27 with the Gila National Forest (huge thanks to @Kaitum for getting this ball rolling) in New Mexico where we will be working on a stream restoration project in two creek drainages with the eventual goal of helping restore the Gila Trout population in the area.
These projects are a Saturday-Sunday event and usually consist of working most of the day on Saturday before breaking apart for a cookout and a few cold ones. On Sunday we finish up what we were working on Saturday before heading home that afternoon.
I'm obviously biased but these are a blast to attend and I've made some incredible friends over the years from those that have volunteered. If you are in New Mexico or within driving distance, come give us a hand!
I've added the event to our website that has a more detailed description of the work with the location, times, and everything else. There is also a signup sheet for anyone that is interested.
If you can't make it to New Mexico, I should have another 4-5 planned for the rest of the spring/summer.
