No desert turkey here , Silver City is at 6000 feet with 1 million acers of forest and wilderness , the gould turkey are in the Coronado national forest , in southern New Mexico , and we have Rio's in the eastern side of the state in the brush country ,looks just like Texas. Merriam toms here ,had a great spring of 2024 season is a month long, two toms , and one in the fall .

Hello to all this is Turkey Nut from New Mexico just got accepted into the group. Turkey is my passion , and having a great time in the Gila Is a 46 year run for me, Married , Vice President of the New Mexico State chapter of the NWTF, chapter President of the Gila Gobblers in Silver City New Mexico.

I'm so new to turkey hunting any tips is great! Just a girl trying to learn here I went to pecos this weekend found track and feathers and saw one hen but she was so damn fast ! I'm thinking this is going to be challenging !
