New hunter

Greetings. I'm about to retire from 30 years of Naval Service and have been really looking into getting into Hunting. My GF purchased me a 2025 Bear Legit MAXX RTH kit for Christmas, and I just don't know where to begin. Any suggestions and tips are much appreciated. I currently live in Key West, FL, but I will be relocating to Suffolk, VA, in a few months. I've already completed my hunter education and bow education courses.

hello Blacksith_81, you can go to your local archery club and start there with intro's. Also you can go on Youtube and Search for anything anymore.

I've tried that the nearest club is more than a 100 miles away currently and the nearest bow techis more than 160 so it seem as though I'm in a holding pattern until I get to VA

Join the local club, get involved and try to befriend someone willing to mentor you. Welcome to hunting!
