Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

New from Pennsylvania

Thank you, quick background: Most of my experiences have been hunting whitetail in Pennsylvania, Sika deer in Maryland and whitetail in the Adirondaks. I have been fortunate to have spent time and hunt in Montana and Idaho for elk. I lust for the opportunity again which brings me to the forum to learn and read intriguing reports from out west.
Did you get an elk?

BTW, spent 25 years in Wexford/Gibsonia. Retired 11 years ago.

Nice,

No elk that trip. Had a spike and cow at 30 yds dead to rights but didn't shoot him.

Had a fleeting run in with a good looking bull but never caught up with him again.

Pretty country for sure.

Absolutely. I love Montana more than Wyoming, but I may be biased. There is nothing like elk hunting. If you stay outta Bozeman, Billings, and Missoula, you will see the true West, and meet some great, awesome people.

Its kinda like Florida in many ways. Stay outta Miami to West Palm Beach, and Marco Island to now Sarasota.

There is nothing like the taste of elk. You can have mule deer, yuck. Bothe those a imals have behavior that's so different than whitetail.
