New from Montana

Hey guys, been a longtime lurker on the forum for a while. I grew up in southern Wyoming, and live in Montana now. I rifle/bow hunt muleys, elk, and antelope and have had success (harvest) on all of them in several units in Wyo and Montana. Successfully harvested my first archery elk this year, and my best muley!

Been a Randy fan for a while, and a public hunter even longer. I am looking forward to making contributions to the page and improving my involvement in the process of giving the FWP proper feedback on their deer and elk management strategy.

Welcome! Post a side and rear angle as well, very tough to guess from that angle alone.

Unfortunately this is the best other pic ive got. Hes at the taxidermist now for a euro - waiting on a score from him as well.

Welcome! I say it scores 152 7/8 total & 147 w/deductions. Cool buck anyway you look at it. Did you get it aged by any chance?

Big eye guards and extras should get him to right around 157 gross is my guess!

I havent, yet. Thinking about doing it but im not sure its worth 40 bucks.

His teeth didnt seem too terribly worn, maybe 3.5.

$40 bucks? It’s $12 per specimen I believe if you have a minimum order. I send in an order every year if you want to get him aged, pm me. Welcome to hunttalk

Ya, the $40 bucks seems a little steep. Thats quite a hole in the shoulder in the first pic! What did you shoot him with? Caliber/bullet?

300 prc, 212 eldx factory loads, 26 inch barrel. 200 ish yards.

Usually use a 308, i wanted some more confidence for 450-600 yard shots (conditions permitting).

Ya gotta love the dark horns on a Euro mount! Looks good!

Nice! The 212 ELDX explains the comet size hole.

Lol cheapy knives id bought years ago...

You can see the polymer case. Ended up using the gerber replacable blade for most of it because i couldnt keep the chinesum steel sharp at all.
