I have a friend taking me hunting
This September for moose.
This is a diy type hunt. He is NOT being paid. How ever I would like to get the guy a little something.
He lives up there, works in the outdoor industry and retired army.
I was looking at a really nice knife but you know he already has it.
Any ideas

Give him some meat.

A nice custom knife is always a great gift no matter if they already have one
A pistol could be another option.

Give him some meat.

Meat on a shared trip should already be understood to be a shared reward if one is successful and the other is helping. Especially so if one person local expertise is essential to the visitor’s success.

@Preacher shaner, pay more than your fair share of fuel, travel expenses, offer an even split of meat if you’re successful and he’s not and whatever memento you give as an appreciation gift will be well received and you will most likely be a welcome member of his hunting circle for years to come.
