Nebraska mule deer hunting

I'm planning a trip to Nebraska next year for a mule deer hunt. I have never killed a mule deer and would like to know where would be my best chances of harvesting a mule deer and any more information would be greatly appreciated.

Sand Hills has a good population. Wide open rolling hills with agriculture in most little valleys. Very fun area to hunt.

Draw a line between O'Neill and Grand Island...look west of that.

Did Nebraska have the purple tongue thing go through in 2019-202? That hit SD west river in some areas 10-15 years ago. Killed off a lot of deer.

The pine ridge unit in the north west corner has alot of public land I think they switched to a draw last year.
