Ha, probably not what you were thinking, but should be expected from me anyway. My wife took the kids into town to shop today so I took myself up into the mountains. There is a tiny mountain stream that I haven't fished for nearly a year, and it was calling my name. Man, what a day. I had the best fishing I've ever had on that little creek. I caught at least 40 trout or more. Nope they aren't huge, but who cares when one is surrounded by this kind of beauty and no people or man-made objects. I literally had just as much fun catching these little wild trout as I do catching trophy sized fish. Life is good!
First fishing hole of the day.
I even managed to catch a tiny little cutthroat on the first cast of the day. He's super little but he still counts.
The next fish was quite a bit bigger. I caught quite a few just like this one.
I only caught one brookie, but just look at the colors on this gorgeous little fish!!!
I fished until I was completely content and did not feel the need to catch anymore. I approached this last hole and made my cast.
I was rewarded with this beautifully colored male cutthroat. I unhooked him, turned him loose, and stood back up. As I stood there I just thought to myself; Man, what a great day in an even greater setting. Sometimes, in the back of my mind, I really hope Heaven is as nice as Montana.
