Iron site graduations on rear ramp

I’m looking to adjust iron sites on 870. I was trying to google my question and didn’t turn up the answer. There are graduations on the rear ramp. A scope click is typically 1/4” at 100. Do iron sites like these have an expected distance a POI should shift at 100 yards? I’m just trying to cut down on sight in time. No need to eat extra $lug recoils for fun.

Not my gun pictured but shows clearly what I’m talking about.

As far as I know they’re really just indicators for where the sight should line up when sighted in. No correlation between impact and distance moved

Agree with this.

I would move it pretty substantially of you are off.

Start in the middle at 50 yards and imagine you will be real close from my experience with those types of sights and my 870 I had at work.

Do you know where it hits now? If so, move sight up 4 marks, shoot at 50yds. If too high, drip down 2 Marks, shoot. Then finesse one mark up or down to hit tip top of bead on the target. Have a ball Pard.
