4.2 miles this morning.
Stayed on trail for the first hike just to travel through the valley. Walked through 3 backpack camping sites with campers at each one. I'm about 90% sure I got a contact buzz walking past one. For some reason I got really hungry all of the sudden. I did find some promising deer sign in other areas.

I wish they’d stock some fingerling brown’s in that little creek.

Whe the weeds and bugs aren't so bad I would like to spend some time looking around on the other side of that creek.
The bugs were bad back there? 😂. I had hiked through there that day I stopped at your house and I’ve never seen bugs worse. And that includes all my time in Canada and Ak.

This is not a long drawn out awsome story but will give somewhat of a recap.

Day 1
We get into the unit right at shooting time. Been there once before so I knew where public was and what to expect.

Beautiful wyoming sunrise

There's a lot of gas and oil roads and 2 tracks so that helps getting around. Drive and glass, hike and glass. A few antelope seen on private land, some just off the border of public. Tried a trick I saw bigfin do by just waiting and hopefully they move onto public. That trick did not work for us.

The country we were hunting

After many miles on the truck and about 5 miles on the boots it's getting towards the end of the day. Finally found some animals on public land. My kids buddy Reece was up for first shot. As he was moving into position for a shot the herd started acting spooky. Just as he was ready to shoot the buck started to move and it was a clean miss. That was all for day 1. Pizza for supper at the hotel hit the spot at the end of the day.

Day 2 We started in the north part of the unit again. More driving, hiking, and glassing. Spotted another herd about a mile away so we make a plan. After circling around on a 2 track to get closer, then hiking in a ways it's determined that they are also on private by about 100 yards. We decide to get bac

k on the highway and loop around another county road that takes us through the center of the unit to some smaller pieces of public. Lots of animals on private again.

Came across some history in the field.
