I got to try and break the first prototype of an extended wheelbase Cat 518 grapple skidder back in the 70’s. Guys from Cat in a creeper van driving thru the brush recording strain gage data coming off the rear diff and axles.
We were hauling 40 truck loads/day of Pine to the mill back then.

You guys and your grapple skidders! I always had to pull winch line and set chokers.

Same. Did that for a while in the river bottoms around here about 40 years ago or so. Fairly nervous using one to pull a semi trailer across the river bridge.
