Also yesterday I heard on the radio something along the lines of 300 million has been spent between tester and Sheehy. Tester spending 3/1 on him. The number that seems really crazy was it came out to around 486 dollars I believe it was per registered voter in mt. What a waste of money
Holy Batchit!

This morning while working on my sxs I had pandora on and I was curious as to what commercials will be on after this. Also yesterday I heard on the radio something along the lines of 300 million has been spent between tester and Sheehy. Tester spending 3/1 on him. As I expressed above, "I have often remarked that if all this exorbitant campaign money and all the money spent for hype and tickets for the Super Bowl were spent on cancer and other medical research, huge improvements could result for medical care of many now fatal afflictions. Obviously, societal priorities are skewed."

What a flipping, fantastic fantasy! We'll call this the FFF affect.

Of all 50 States, Montana holds the apparent National Democrat spotlight regarding Tester's Senate seat. Thus the massive infusion of $.

Montanans' pick will likely determine which political party controls the upper chamber for at least the next two years, as Democrats battle for every single seat to hold their majority.

Regarding this thread: 136 votes thus far.

More food for thought. Check the financials for bridger aerospace. I recommend doing that. That made my vote easy. Took the money and ran
Sure, like there was really any question about who you were voting for. You have a link to the "financials" or no?

It’s a publicly traded company you guys can look them up yourselves. Stock price is down roughly 80% since going public. Sheehy made $2.3 million his last year as ceo with company experiencing widening losses and a bloating balance sheet. I wouldn’t bet against a bankruptcy filing in the future at some point(but that’s my speculation from the numbers) and you know who loses their asses with that right? Not Tim. Contrast that against the fire years we have been having. You guys can make your own call. I don’t gaf who you vote for. Polls show this one is in the books already anyway

I just wanted you to post it up cause I knew few would actually make the effort to find and read the info.

Folks seem to conflate owning a business with being successful at running a business.

I’m no cheerleader for anyone but I doubt there are many successful business owners who have not failed at one point. For reference Henry Ford filed bankruptcy twice.

This is what keeps me from attempting it.
Trick is to use someone else’s money. Got any contacts in private equity or local government?

There was an article in the Financial Times a few days ago titled, “Republican Senate candidate’s fire fighting company could go up in smoke:
Preparing for office the Blackstone way.”

Looks like Sheehy got a nice bonus from a private equity deal and a release from any personal debt guarantees, all while the company has been barely maintaining solvency for the past five years.

Their biggest debt appears to be owed to Gallatin County taxpayers: “Its largest obligation is a $160mn municipal bond raised for industrial development with the help of a Montana local authority that was almost entirely used to cash-out prior Blackstone financing.”

Another article with more details about the bond from Montana Free Press titled “Feds asked to investigate $160M bond issued to Tim Sheehy’s business.”

The FT piece has a line that goes back to my prior statement about conflation, “Which raises a question of what counts as success or failure in the view of the historical party of American business?”

Also, apologies for perpetuating an increasingly unpleasant topic that gets folks riled up these days.

I hope the election goes smoothly, the country returns to a semblance of normalcy, and that everyone fills their tags on above average critters and has fun doing so.
