Yesterday, we reported that a deputy shot a mountain lion in Larimer County after it attacked a civilian and a sheriff’s deputy.

Wow. I’d be interested in seeing how the two got tangled up in the first place but interesting footage nonetheless.

the rarity of seeing any sort of mountain lion interaction on video, let alone any sort of attack... it's something else

while the video is a bit anticlimactic, you just cannot stop re watching it. without a hoard of deputies closing in she would've been done for

for some context to others, from what i remember reading, she was responding to an attack that just previously occurred on a civilian in that trailer park

I believe it. I can't believe a lion would brazenly attack people who are in groups without something wrong with it. They have also found a bobcat with rabies fairly recent in that same general area.

I was going to suggest that it was possibly an escaped pet until I read about the rabies. That explains everything.

Unreal! Glad to hear the deputy was initially ok, and I imagine the hospital she visited was quick with Rabies treatment.

Hunting and recreating where I do, I am constantly playing out how I would handle a Mountain Lion attack in my head. Probably won't go well.

I should of said "he" since it was a young male. CPW officers put it down after it attacked the sheriff's deputy.

I have hours of video of my dogs baying up lions. That's alot more exciting than seeing one take a bite out of a civil servant.
