ELK, YOU'RE COMING DOWN TO ARIZONA? WHEN? WHERE ARE YOU STAYING? YOU GOING TO DO SOME HUNTING OR FISHING? LET'S ALL HOOK UP SOMETIME FOR A DIINNER OR SOMETHING (NOT A DATE). DOES DELW KNOW? WHAT DOES ALL THE ARIZONANS THINK? ANYONE ELSE UP FOR A REAL LIFE REUNION TYPE OF ACTIVITY OR SOMETHING?

We should be there on the 27th (next Saturday). Yes Del knows and is going to take me fishing. This will be the first time fishing in many years and I am looing forward to it and am counting down the days. We are going to stay with danr55. We will be there for a week. Would like to meet all you yahoos from the land of sun and heat.

We have to get together while Elkhunter is in town.

Let's figure this out fast. If your going to be here on the 26th we need to get working on something.

Danr55 lives in Mesa. So do we want to do something on the eastside? I don't mind the drive. I owe Elkhunter a few beers and I like to settle my debts. :D :D

Westy...

Saguaro and Canyon have restaurants on the lake and are close to Mesa. I have not been in either of the restaurants so I can not comment on their facilities. I think there are some steak houses on the road to Canyon. Just trying to throw out some ideas.

Count me in.
Since I only know Delw and Westy it would be good to finaaly meet some of you others out there.
I too think the east side would be good place to meet.
Maybe the mining camp?
any other ideas.
Allen

GREAT!!!!
LET'S DO THIS. I LIVE ON THE EASTSIDE TOO. POWER ROAD GOES UP SAGUARO. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF RESTAURANTS ON POWER JUST NORTH OF I-60. I DON'T KNOW WHERE DANR LIVES, MAYBE HE CAN GIVE US A GENERAL AREA SO WE CAN PLAN SOME DETAILS TO THIS REUNION. HOW ABOUT DANR? :D

Here is the Mining Camp Restaurant....

Costs:

Adults $15.95* (ages 13 and above)
Seniors receive a 10% discount (ages 60 and above)
Children Ages 4-12 $7.95*
Ages 3 and under always eat free

Steaks:
10 oz. Rib Eye $16.95
14 oz. Rib Eye $17.95

Discounted rates are available in general dining
for groups of 20 or more adults!

Sounds like Del won't go 15.95 for me to eat!

Del, you cheapskate, spring for the $16.00. Heck-sakes, take it from DMI's till if you have to, but let your wife out fo the house! Holy Moses! BTW (even though I live out of town and won't be there, it's lunch time and I'm hungry) what does one get for $15.95? Is that price in USD or Canadian?

IF you guys are meeting somewhere on the 27th, tell me what time and where. Miners camp is pretty cool especially when the band's playing! I have to work saturdays, but maybe I can meet ya all on the lake or restaurant somewhere!

LOL I was thinking it was like 25-35 bucks.... I would let her eat, if I dont she gets cranky....

John we could do this on a weekday......

Delw

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a far cry from the MacDonald's that Del first mentioned. Del didn't tell me there was real places to eat and get real food. Nothing against MickyD's but I get plenty of that up here.

SO.... this Moosies HUNTTALK.com "GATHERING".. wa I going to be invited ;)

(PS, If Delw gets me that boat, I might have to make a "QUICK" run down there :D :D)

Dam!!! I was thinking more along the lines of Denny's or I.H.O.P. or Ruth Chris Steakhouse. I should be open anytime, except Sunday. The further advance notice the better, so let's finalize something. I don't mean to be pushy, I used to hang out with a group friends wasy back in the day, and all we did was "TALK" about doing stuff, and we never actually did anything. ok ok, enough rambling for me. Mining Camp sounds doable. now, let's get a date and time set. Thursday? 7:00pm??

I can make it during the day, but I work from 3PM -1AM on Thur - Sun this upcoming weekend. :( Friday is out because of volunteer work.
Any other day or maybe for breakfast somewhere also?
Lets meet on a lake? Saguaro, Pleasant, Rosey??
any ideas or suggestions?

hey, I know I'm new here to the board, but been in teh state for years. I'm up for meeting new people who like to hunt and fish. Problem is we start our red potato harvesr next week and I'll be slammed working. BUT...if anyone is up to driving to the WEST side...107th Ave and Buckeye Rd...I'll be glad to donate free fresh AZ grown red potatoes to the fishing expedition. Let me know if interested. These are REAL potatoes...not like those things that taste like dirt that come from
I-DA-HO!!!
:D

Law Vegas, here is the $15.95 meal deal...hold on you guys, its a 'cut and paste':

Menu:
As was the case in the old camps, the Mining Camp Restaurant serves "all you can eat," (Family Style Dinners right to your table) from heaping platters of golden brown roast chicken with stuffing and gravy, big juicy slices of roast beef sirloin with gravy and our world-famous barbecue ribs. You may also choose a delightfully prepared choice charbroiled steak.

Coleslaw is served family style in big bowls along with oven-hot baked beans. There are sourdough rolls and homemade raisin bread, baked fresh daily in the cook's shanty. The coffee comes to the table in large coffee pots on a help yourself basis and the meal is complete with the old Mining Camp prospector cookies.
