Montana is Calling.

My advice is to do it as soon as possible, even if you lose a chunk of money doing so. The move will only get more complicated as your child gets older. In 10years she'll have a life that matters to her that may or may not include moving to MT as a part of it. Planning is great, but like having a child, at some point you just have to do it!

My wife and I moved West as newlyweds for my grad school and then moved back to IN after 10 years to be closer to family. I would move back tomorrow and gladly take a pay cut to do so. But, roots have been set here by her and my two boys. Like I said above, go as soon as possible as it will only get more complicated...
 
My wife and I are in a similar situation, though closer to execution than you. It might not be Montana, but somewhere out west with mountains. We just need to get away from Illinois' politics.
