Had another great hunting trip to central Montana. First day out we got to our glassing point. After about 2 minutes we found a buck my son wanted. Made a good shot and his biggest buck to date was down.

Glassing point

After the long stalk he waits while I go back and pick up everything we left behind at the glassing point.

His buck. 5x6 or 6x7 if you count eyeguards.

My buck I found on the second day. I missed him about 15 minutes after this picture. He left the area and came back 3 days later.

Awesome 5x5. Shot him about 100 yards from a big buck I got 2 years ago.

Both bucks together.

Couple bonus pictures. Even went to a cow auction.

Nice bucks! What an awesome experience with your son. For as much as folks talk about the decline in quality of mule deer in Montana, there sure seems to be a lot of decent bucks coming out of there this year. Shifting baseline, probably, but I’d be more than pleased with either of those bucks.

That’s an awesome trip right there very nice congrats!

I keep hearing how Montana sucks but this thread suggests that if ya work at it there are nice bucks out there!

thanks for sharing!
