Montana is privatizing wildlife by unlimited opportunity and tags. Many are just too dumb to see it.I see already what kinda guy you are . An opportunity guy . Turkey day shoot guy . Have fun ! Kill ‘em all
Absolutely it does. Not for antelope tho. I didn’t draw. Never drew a tag in Montana this year. You don’t think it happens ?
True story . It’s very sad what’s going onMontana is privatizing wildlife by unlimited opportunity and tags. Many are just too dumb to see it.
Huh ? Antelope yes I can see but who you think funds FWP ? NR license sales are a huge part of itIt is getting harder and harder to justify offering tags to non residents, especially antelope.
They are now, but I don't see a state having a hard time funding itself considering the sentiment that is coming from the residents. Some residents may complain if they increase prices but I'm pretty sure a small hike and they would overcome the lost sales from the reduction in non-residents sales. There are more and more vocal ppl at the table each year. I'm just going to appreciate my time in that state for as long as I can. I'm into the state for about $1500 and I will spend 3ish weeks chasing deer, elk and antelope. I can't leave my house on vacation for 4 days with my family for that! I can hunt Wyoming general elk tag every 4-6 years. Mule deer every 3-5 years and antelope every 1-3 years and get the same quality hunt. No state is perfect and as a non-resident I'm going to keep my mouth shut and enjoy what the state has to offer.Huh ? Antelope yes I can see but who you think funds FWP ? I shot a one horned buck in SE Montana on November 8th one year. When I walked up and grabbed the remaining sheath it popped right off. Saw a few shed or partially shed that weekend. How early do the antelope bucks start shedding? Season runs to the 13th of November, are they going to be dropping sheaths by the weekend of November 5/6?
Thinking of going later to avoid pressure on the antelope herds and tie in better with work schedule.

What part? I’ve been to unit 17 for deer in NE WY not sure what antelope zone that isGood luck! I'll be just South of you chasing them in NE Wyoming!
Awesome. How much are you willing to pay over what pay in 2022? One way or the other, residents need to pay for the shortfall when 10% of the tags sold to non-residents are much more in total than if keep the same price for residents but kick the non-residents out. Would you pay double and feel is a good deal? Are you okay if during the next wildfire you find out that non-resident firefighter teams and gear stay at their home state and watch Montana burn? Can we keep Montana residents out of our hospitals when need a specialist out of state? Can we refuse to sell your ranchers hay during a drought? Not send fuel from our refineries? I say do as you want and let the dust settle however it may settle but there is no free lunch in life.It is getting harder and harder to justify offering tags to non residents, especially antelope.

This all seems a little extreme but to answer one of your questions, I’d pay double for a .10% increase in odds, and there would still be more demand than tags which is the heart of the problem.Awesome.
