Montana 2025 draws

The Rinnella Affect, wolves, onxmaps, 1000 yard rifles, 100 yard bows, 6 months of season, slimy politicians making laws that cripple good management - it takes a pretty good permit to be worth the wait in MT.

Nothing in my house but a friend I’ve known for 35 years drew elk in 380. He’s got an old wood stock rifle and would likely never shoot past 200 yards and is most often most happy about just taking a cow for the meat. Glad he drew.

that’s great . I hope he has a 350” bull at 150 yards And takes the bull home . These are the posts I like to read .

Question: If I, as a resident, drew a LE permit that I didn't want to draw, can I return that permit so I can still hunt general units?

There is a separate point only period at end of year…. If you didn’t want to draw you didn’t have to apply and you get preference and bonus points only in Oct
Well, all my life I've never known that. Still going to call and ask, I have to assume there are many people who would love to have this permit, maybe it could be passed on.

I’m assuming you put in for a hard to draw unit and it’s a good tag. Why not go hunt it rather than collect another point?
I had in my mind to kill a bull this year in archery in an OTC unit.

And, it's a significant time and effort commitment that I'm not sure I'm up for this year. I suppose I might not have a choice. :ROFLMAO:
