I’ve really been wanting to shoot a deer with the .300 savage my Dad gave me. Does anyone reload for this caliber?

This is the load dad worked up for mine when I was a kid. Still have the rifle, it’s a Remington 722, it shoots far better than I can.
Winchester Cases
Federal 210 Primers
42 grains of 4320
150 grain Hornady Interlock.
It’s really good deer medicine.

Thanks for the response. I’ll check it out.

Slick,
I haven't seen one of those in the field since a deer camping the 70's. Good luck brother, that's a cool old leveraction.

Got to check w the old man on powders n charges but he used to load his for me when I was younger w 180grn silver tips
I remember my Dad shooting the Winchester silver tips in the gun I have. I may even have a partial box of them now that I think about it.

Always thought that if I ever come across one at the right price, I’d try the 130gr TTSX in the .300 Savage. Seems like it would wake it up a bit.

I downed this muley near a burn site within the Black Hills National Forest of South Dakota. Shooting distance was approx 150 yards or so. Savage 99 is a keeper!
