I was reading an article about solar powered devices that have been developed to help developing parts of the world when I came across the LuminAID. Anyone ever used one while camping?
It's essentially a solar powered LED light that has an inflatable translucent bladder to diffuse the light and creating a lantern. It weighs a mere 2.9 oz and at full charge has 8-10 hours of run time on the high setting, recharges in about 7 hours of sunlight, and is waterproof. It looks like it would take up nearly no space in a pack. I think I am going to buy one since they cost all of $20... certainly can't be the dumbest $20 I've ever spent.
